The Gertler String
Quartet is the school’s representative chamber group
and constitutes a framework for intense schooling
for young string quartets. Established in the first
half of the 1980’s, the quartet is called after
Herman Hershel Gertler, a talented Polish Violinist,
who perished in the Holocaust. The quartet is
composed of four excellent students of the School of
Music and is guided by the school's best teachers.
