The music library is part of the
Buchmann-Mehta School of Music.
The library serves teachers and students of
the School of Music,
including faculty and
students of the Department of Musicology.
Students from other faculties who take music
courses and guest musician who visit the
academy are also among the library's
frequent users.
The Library is devided into 3 sections:
- The reception
- The reading room
- The listening and recording room
The Library collection
The collection includes 50,000
items:
35,000 scores and sheet music
12,000 CDs
2,000 records
500 video-tapes
100 DVDs
20 periodicals
The unique service of the library is that it
is the only one on campus which allows
teachers to use materials (scores,
recordings, videotapes, DVDs,
CDs, listening and
viewing equipment) often
and in large numbers
in their teaching classes. A major
part of the library
collection comes from donors.
