Research Interests

Abraham Hefetz is a chemical ecologist and evolutionary biologist. His specific field of interest lies  in the evolution of chemical communication (pheromones) in social insects. The complexity of these creatures’ systems of communication open the way  to deciphering the syntax and context of response to chemical signals. His lab engages with both unraveling the chemical nature of pheromones and the behavior that they elicit.
