פרופ' תדמור קיבלה את הדוקטורט שלה מהפקולטה לעסקים של אוניברסיטת ברקלי ובעלת תואר ראשון כפול מאוניברסיטת חיפה בפסיכולוגיה וב"א מצטיינים. לפני הצטרפותה לסגל הפקולטה בתל אביב, עשתה פוסט דוקטורט בבית הספר לעסקים של הארוורד והייתה חוקרת בתכנית המשא ומתן של בית הספר למשפטים של הארוורד. כרמית זכתה בפרסי הצטיינות ובמענקים על עבודתה המחקרית, כולל מלגת אלון, מארי קירי, והקרן הישראלית למדעים. מחקריה פורסמו בז'ורנלים מובילים בתחום וכמן כן סוקרו בעיתונות העולמית, כולל בפורבס ובניו-יורק טיימס. היא גם זכתה במגוון פרסי הוראה, כולל מצטיין דיקאן ומצטיין רקטור.
