How close is our neighbor biotic world? On the frequency of extraterrestrial life after Kepler.
Absract:
The Kepler mission has revealed a great number of Earth-like planets, demonstrating for the first time that small terrestrial planets in the habitable zone are common. This information makes possible to estimate the distance to the nearest biotic planets. Extraterrestrial life now seems more probable and much nearer than scientists used to expect just a decade ago, yet most likely it is very primitive, on the monocellular level.
