In this experiment you will find the rate law and rate constant of a chemical reaction.

The spectrophotometer (Figure 1) includes:

  1. Light source: A Tungsten lamp capable of producing wavelengths from 350 nm to 900 nm.
  2. Cuvette holder.
  3. Optic fiber leading from the cuvette to the detector.
  4. Detector: The detector is made of a diffraction grating, which is an optical component used to spatially separate white light into its constituent optical frequencies, and a charge-coupled device.
