Yet another digression on what was a rather tangential digression to begin with. Is there a point to all of this? If you, the reader, have gotten this far, is there a payoff for your efforts? Do you get to a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Do you find the beef? Perhaps you're saying to yourself: "there must be some point to all this, so maybe if I keep reading I'll find it". And perhaps you will.
