Knowino:Administrators
Certain experienced editors are tasked with keeping the community a smoothly-running place. Experienced editors who become administrators can:
- block disruptive editors
- delete pages and files
- lock pages and files from editing
- move pages over existing names
- manage some user rights, including appointing reviewers.
Of course, administrators can perform the reverse (where applicable) any of these actions.
See the list of administrators.
To become an administrator, you need to demonstrate:
- commitment to the vision of the project
- consistent civility, maturity, and good judgement
- a capacity to work productively with other editors
- the ability to resolve disputes in an amicable and fair way.
If you're an experienced editor and you'd like to become an administrator, you need to approach three current administrators and get them to publicly support your application by leaving a note on your user-discussion page. Then you should approach the Community Council and ask for administrator access. Remember that administrators are expected to exhibit exemplary behaviour, to lead by example, and to assist other editors by offering assistance in a spirit of willingness and good humour.
