I read a newspaper as well.

When it comes to popular culture, the television is a good source. If it's news I'm looking for, I generally prefer to read the newspaper. I do, however, like to keep up with the headlines on numerous web sites - even if I'm not reading the articles, when I see the names that show up in the headlines I at least get a picture of what's in and what's out. And that means that to a certain extent the newspaper, or the television news, is preferable for this basic common knowledge than the World Wide Web. On the web I know precisely how to get to the information that I want, and to avoid what I don't. With newspapers and television the headlines are right there in front of me, offering me information with which I might otherwise not be in contact.
