To be perfectly honest, I really don't know why. It sort of asked to be put here, and I complied. In a hypertexted environment, of course, it really shouldn't make much difference where it gets filed.
As part of my quest for the solo I joined a listserv devoted to blues, and sent off my query, expecting that the answer would arrive rather quickly:
From many (too many?) years ago, I remember hearing an Albert King solo which was very clearly the basis for Eric Clapton's well known solo from Sunshine of Your Love (on the second Cream album). I've thought about this solo on and off for years, but, being predominantly a jazz person, never thought to seek it out. Now, I'd really like to find it.As of this writing (December, 1999), four months after my original posting, the entire thread is still available via Deja.com, though I have no idea how much longer it will stay that way.
Of course I hardly know where to start. Is there anyone out there who knows the particular solo I'm referring to and can tell me on what record I can find it?
Thanks,
Jay
