Hypertext is trouble enough.

The primary focus of the Boidem is (I hope) its content. I'll occasionally play around a bit with the design, but ordinarily this is only done when it (more or less) fulfills some purpose related to the topic of the column. In second place, however, and not too far behind in focus, is the usage of hypertext - not as an organizing principle, but instead as a medium that allows me to stray (though not too far) from the topic at hand. Because from experience I've learned that hypertextual writing can be confusing to the reader, I attempt to keep other elements of these columns, such as the design, as simple as possible. I figure that causing confusion on one level is enough.
