Another way of looking at it.
The author of the Construction Sign Museum page is outraged by people who
take the time to put up an "under construction" sign instead of taking
the time to actually construct their sites. There's a certain amount of logic
to this. But should the plethora of these signs actually be blamed on simple laziness?
I think the answer lies more in the very nature of the web as a constantly evolving
medium. A page can exist in what looks to be a somewhat final form, yet still
be continually "under construction" simply because whoever is writing
it is still in the process of deciding upon the best way to present a particular
thought, or is continually revising the way he or she wants the page to look.
This is not only legitimate. In the medium of the web, it's perhaps unavoidable
- even if the metaphor is inaccurate. (Just leave
off those cute graphics, please.)
