"Controlled Dephasing
of Electrons via Which Path Experiments"

Electrons in a mesoscopic system were controllably dephased via detecting
their trajectory. Electrons' coherent properties were first observed
by constructing a two path electron interferometer. A detector was then
added near one of the paths. As the sensitivity of the detector increased,
providing thus more accurate information of the chosen path by the electron,
the visibility of the interference diminished - reflecting loss of coherence.
