דפנה הירש

ד"ר דפנה הירש היא מרצה בכירה במחלקה לסוציולוגיה, למדע המדינה ולתקשורת באוניברסיטה הפתוחה מ-2009. בשנים 2006–2017 היתה מורה מן החוץ ביחידה למחקר התרבות.

עוסקת בנושאים הבאים: תרבות חיי היומיום, ובפרט הקשר בין תהליכים חברתיים ופוליטיים רחבים לפרקטיקות יומיומיות; העיצוב החברתי-תרבותי של הגוף; היסטוריה של אוכל בישראל; יחסי מגדר; יחסים אתניים; תפיסות גזע וגזענות.

תחומים ספציפיים, בין השאר: הנחלת רפרטואר גופני בחברה היהודית בתקופת המנדט ויצירת בידולים חברתיים; בניית תרבות חיי היומיום בתקופת המנדט ובפרט חלקם של ארגוני נשים בתהליך; שיח הגזע בישוב; צריכת החומוס בישראל כמקרה מבחן למגע בין תרבויות; תיאוריות של גבריות.

Dafna Hirsch

Dr. Dafna Hirsch is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Sociology, Political Science and Communication at the Open University of Israel since 2009. She was an adjunct lecturer at the TAU Unit of Culture Research between 2006 and 2017.

Main fields: Culture of everyday life; the socio-cultural shaping of the body; history of food in Israel; gender relations; ethnic relations; racial concepts and racism.

Specific fields: The inculcation of a bodily repertoire in the Jewish society of mandate Palestine; shaping everyday culture during the mandate period, and especially the role of women's organizations in this process; racial discourse in the Yishuv; Hummus consumption in Israel as a case study for intercultural relations; theories of masculinity.
