"Electronic transport in one-dimensional quantum wires"

It is well known that the conductance in quantum wires (QWRs) is
quantized according to Landauer's formula. We observe this
quantization in V-groove QWRs formed in GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructures
and show that the conductance decreases from the Landauer values
2e2/h as the temperature is lowered. We discuss this degradation in
terms of the Luttinger liquid model.
