Student Thesis Seminar
"Characterization of high-temperature superconducting films"
Boaz Almog
Dept. of Condensed Matter Physics, Tel Aviv University
My thesis is part of an ongoing effort to establish the growing
techniques and produce high quality HTS films. The major effort of my
work was to find methods to evaluate the materials without having to
destroy them (for example - make a bridge pattern to measure critical
current density). In particular two measurement setups have been
developed:
1. An inductive method to measure critical current density.
2. A dielectric cavity resonator to measure surface
resistance.
A review of these experiments will be given in the seminar.
