Venus

While Venus, strictly speaking, does not possess an intrinsic magnetosphere, it has a significant interaction with the solar wind which differs sufficiently from the analogous phenomenon at comets to warrant inclusion under the planetary heading. In that area, I worked with our late colleague Mordechai (Marks) Kovner on the question of particle acceleration in the Cytherean environment (the adjective derived from Venus has, alas, other connotations) and with Igor Rogachevski and Nathan Kleeorin on the turbulent generation of flux ropes in the ionosphere of Venus.
