The skin of the face seen here has telangiectasias, which are small arborizations of superficial blood vessels. Such lesions can appear in older persons and have no major significance, other than their cosmetic problem. Telangiectasias can be the result of a systemic disease such as the CREST syndrome, or limited scleroderma.
