At medium power, the hypercellularity and pleomorphism of this sarcoma (a malignant fibrous histiocytoma, or MFH) is apparent. These neoplasms arise from mesenchymal cells, not epithelial cells. They are much less common than epithelial malignancies (carcinomas).
