The seminar will deal with problems related to archaeology and text in the Late Bronze and Iron Ages. The following topics will be discussed, among others: the conquest narrative, the rise of Early Israel, the kingdom of Saul, the United Monarchy of King Solomon, the Omride dynasty, Israel in the early 8th century, Judah in the late 8th century, the Assyrian century in Judah, archaeology and text in the Persian period.
