| In the seminar we shall read Latin satirical texts in prose of the first, second and fourth centuries: Petronius, Satyricon, especially parts of the Cena Trimalchionis; Apuleius, Metamorphoses (the Golden Ass); the Historia Augusta. All the texts contain criticism of contemporary society and on the emphasis of the Seminar will be on this aspect.
