I map these columns out rather extensively, though of course that's only for the purpose of making changes. When I'm in the midst of writing it frequently happens that all of a sudden I'll say to myself something like "that deserves a link". But though I may often add a link, it's rather rare for me to forget one, as happened in the column on addiction. It was a rather obvious link, and was all the more conspicuous in its absence. But now it's been restored to its proper place in the flow of things.
