A sign that's past its time?

There are still technological reasons not to forego that diskette in my pocket. Too often I encounter situations where I can't send mail to myself, not to mention the web-based hard drives that once flourished but faded with the bursting of the dot-com balloon. Still, I can well understand that not long from now people will see the sagging pocket and instead of thinking "he works with digital information" they'll think "he doesn't know how to correctly transfer digital information". It might be more flattering to think that what will go through their minds will be "wow! he learned to use a computer before the internet", but I doubt that a sagging pocket will earn much respect.
