Honestly, this wasn't expected.
What are the odds of getting off on a tangent when the "opening" salvo of the tangent that leads up to it deals with why, of late, I seem to be doing this less and less? To tell the truth, I suppose that the odds are probably rather great. And I doubt that anyone will believe me, but ... I really didn't intend for this to happen. Sometimes, without prior warning, a columns gets a bit out of hand. It's in those situations that I have to decide whether to let things play themselves out, or to stop and backtrack and resist the urge to convert to bits anything that comes to mind. But then of course when I seriously consider resisting I remind myself that this is the Boidem.
