Unable to leave well enough alone, I found that I had to delve a bit further into the Kind of Blue "reproduction". Both because I'm a jazz fan (I've listened to Davis's Kind of Blue tens, probably hundreds, of times), and because a project of this sort tends to be the sort of thing I tend to become aware of (sooner, rather than later, though apparently not this time), I wanted to learn more. And it turns out that in October of 2014, in The Atlantic, David A. Graham posted an extensive examination of the Mostly Other People Do The Killing recording. It's a good read that puts the recording in artistic perspective, and definitely helps me appreciate it more.
