Why should we resolve it?
Clearly, that was a poor choice of words. The question of identity on the internet
isn't a question that demands resolution. One day we may approach it from an angle
of assuming, or constructing, different personae, while on another we'll want
to examine in what ways our online lives affect our more traditional, offline,
ones. It's the sort of question that both permits, and also demands, that we play
around with it. If I could have resolved the issue, the last Boidem column would
probably have been written a number of years ago already.
