Double your pleasure, double your fun.


A little bit of web research tells me that Doublemint chewing gum has been around for more than 90 years. During that time the package has undergone nine different facelifts.

This particular package is, for me, the distinctive one. Debuting in 1956, it lasted until 1989, a reign longer than double its closest competitors, meaning that perhaps it's the distinctive packaging not only for me, but for any historians of the history of chewing gum packages that might come along.

Just why I confused being both a candy mint and a breath mint with doubling my (chewing gum related) pleasure may seem a bit strange, though from my searches it seems that at least one other person mixed these metaphors. Be that as it may, my original intent wasn't doubling anything, but instead saying that both hi and lo tech could coexist.
