Not exactly what you were thinking.
It happens to me too. When I see something like "search strategies"
I assume that somebody wants to help me learn to be a
better searcher, that somebody is going to point me in the direction of tools
for more effective searching, or explain to me how to better conduct my searches
with the tools I'm already using. And yes, that does occasionally happen on this
site/newsletter, but it's far from being the main emphasis.
What we do get is how to optimize our sites for getting better placement in search
engine results. If you're writing for about eight readers, that's not going to
be your greatest concern. If, however, you want to make a living selling a product
and/or a service similar to what hundreds of others are trying to sell, getting
up into that first page of results is definitely very important.
