What, again?
It was only a few columns ago that I reviewed some
of the tools that I use in order to keep pages, or text, or ideas, or whatever,
in reach. There certainly isn't any reason to reiterate that here as well. What
perhaps does bear repeating is the fact that each of these tools function for
me within two different realms of use. They are, perhaps first and foremost, means
of externalizing, perhaps reifying, the process of making a note, of attempting
to remember something. And yet (and more to the point in this context), as they
do this they don't replace their physical counterparts of slips of paper and printouts.
At best they compliment these. My life continues on both the digital and the physical
planes - regardless of the benefits that the digital offers me, it hasn't taken
over from, or superceded, the physical.
