Probably more than you'd want to know.
I suppose that reading a
book on marginalia should be considered an acquired taste. Not everybody is
going to find it fascinating reading. Then again, in the last decade there have
been books published that examine footnotes,
bookshelves,
libraries, a history
of reading, and much more that through getting into the details shed fascinating
light on such a supposedly daily and common activity such as reading.
