Short Curriculum Vitae (highlights):


Born in Hungary. Studied Hebrew literature; B.A., M.A., Ph.D. from Hebrew University, Jerusalem (1991). Married to Catriel (Prof. of computer science at H.U.) + three sons. Taught Medieval Hebrew l iterature at H.U. and at teachers’ college. Worked for many years with Geniza mss. of Hebrew literature. Since 1994 teaches Medieval Hebrew literature at the Tel-Aviv University, department of Hebrew Literature.

Areas of current research interest:


Hebrew Poetry in the East around tenth century; early Karaite liturgy; poetry composed in the Ottoman Empire; influence of music on poetical structures and contents.
